Hospital Equipment: KWSG Commends Third-Estate 27-November- 2009

The Kwara State Government has called on organizations and private individuals to support government in providing adequate health care services to the citizens.

 

The State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Ladi Hassan made the call yesterday in Ilorin, at the children’s specialist hospital, centre Igboro, while receiving hospital equipment donated by a social cultural organization “The Third Estate” to the hospital.

 

Alhaji Hassan noted that the State Government had always advocated private partnership in developmental and health programmes.

 

The Commissioner praised the efforts of the Third Estate for the donation, noting that in the past, only foreign aids were receiving by Nigeria governments.

 

According to him, the state government would not relent in providing health facilities to various communities and warned against the use of sub-standard and contaminated drugs.

 

Earlier, the Chairman of the Third Estate, Alhaji Yinka Yahaya said the association’s donation was to complement the efforts of the state governor, Doctor Bukola Saraki in making health care accessible to the people of the state.

 

Alhaji Yahaya pledged that the association, which comprised professionals mainly from the Ilorin Emirate, would continue to contribute its quota to improving the living conditions of the citizenry.

 

Items donated by the association include bedsheets, theatre gowns, sucktioning machine, sterilizer, Generating set and kidney dishes.

 

Also yesterday, the executive of the “The Third Estate” visited the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari in his palace, where the traditional ruler urged them to continue to make love and unity their watch word.

 

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari urged them to extend their activities to other communities in the Emirate and assist the younger generation to go to greater heights.

 

The Chairman of Third Estate, Alhaji Yinka Yahaya in his response praised the Emir for ensuring continuous peace and tranquility in the Emirate and pledged the associations readiness to associate with government’s programmes
