Ilorin Emir sues for peace as Mulims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari has admonished Muslim faithful to desist from acts capable of disrupting the prevailing peace and harmony in the state.

 

The Emir made the appeal while addressing some groups of Muslim associations who paid him a courtesy call in his palace in Ilorin.

 

In a statement signed by the Mogaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Saliu Woru Mohammed, the Emir stated “no meaningful development could be achieved without peace and harmony and warned the people not to engage in any act that could lead to a breach of peace before, during and after the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.”

 

According to the Emir, “Ilorin and indeed Kwara State is renowned for peace and mutual understanding, the reason why growth and development has continued to grow with leaps and bounds not withstanding security challenges across the federation.”

 

The Emir therefore appealed to Muslims to uphold virtues of Islam that teaches humility, obedience and sacrifice as the nation joins Muslims all over the world to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

 

The Emir then assured residents of Ilorin not to entertain fear and troop out en-masse to observe Eid-el-Kabir prayer at all praying grounds all over the state, adding that “security agents are on the alert to nib in the bud any form of security threat across the state.
